Premises Assistant - Schools

PK Education are looking to recruit dependable and enthusiastic Premises Assistants to join our Facilities & Support Team, supporting schools throughout Sheffield. As a Premises Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping schools maintain safe, clean and welcoming environments for pupils, staff and visitors. Working on a flexible bank basis, you'll provide practical support across a variety of educational settings, making every day different. This role is ideal for candidates with facilities, maintenance, caretaking or general site experience who enjoy practical, hands-on work and are looking for flexibility. Key Responsibilities Supporting the day-to-day operation of school premises Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and general site duties Assisting with classroom, hall and meeting room set-ups Moving furniture, equipment and deliveries around the school site Completing routine site inspections to identify maintenance or safety issues Ensuring school buildings and grounds remain clean, safe and well-presented Reporting maintenance concerns and health and safety hazards to the appropriate staff Supporting school caretakers and site teams during busy periods Maintaining outdoor areas, entrances and pathways where required Assisting with opening and locking school buildings when necessary Requirements Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance, premises or caretaking role is advantageous Good practical skills with the ability to undertake basic repairs Strong awareness of health and safety procedures Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, adaptable and professional approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through PK Education What PK Education Offers Flexible bank assignments to suit your lifestyle Competitive rates of pay Opportunities to work across a variety of primary, secondary and specialist schools throughout Sheffield Weekly pay Dedicated support from an experienced education recruitment consultant Access to ongoing work within our expanding Facilities & Support Team Opportunity to build valuable experience within educational settings If you enjoy practical work and want the flexibility to choose when you work while supporting local schools, we'd love to hear from you.
