About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a busy housing services team in Rugby on a 3-month contract.

This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day working remotely.
This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality housing management services, supporting tenants, and contributing to a customer-focused, efficient housing service.
Please note: A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and valid business insurance are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities Deliver a comprehensive housing management service to tenants across general needs properties Provide advice, support, and information to tenants and the public via home visits, office appointments, phone, and written communication Support new tenants during their settling-in period, including conducting visits within the first four weeks Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to sustain tenancies and provide tailored support Assist tenants with budgeting, income maximisation, and accessing relevant benefits and support services Manage tenancy-related processes including transfers, mutual exchanges, and succession cases in line with legislation Investigate breaches of tenancy conditions and take appropriate action, including legal proceedings where necessary Handle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and neighbour disputes, working with partner agencies to resolve issues effectively Prepare evidence and documentation for legal action relating to tenancy breaches and ASB cases Conduct regular estate inspections and health & safety checks, ensuring housing standards are maintained Promote tenant engagement and participation, fostering strong community relationships Maintain accurate records, case notes, and reports using housing management systems Contribute to service improvement through xwzovoh monitoring, reporting, and data analysis About You Proven experience in a Housing Officer or similar housing management role Strong knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management practices Experience managing anti-social behaviour cases and preparing legal documentation Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accurate record-keeping Confident working with a range of stakeholders, including vulnerable tenants and external agencies
