Eliburn Support Service is a day service that operates from a building base to support adults who have a learning disability, associated physical disabilities and who also have complex health care needs.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful applicants to join our staff team on a permanent basis working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9.30am to 3.30pm and Fridays 9.00am to 3.00pm
The Service supports individuals through, face to face contact with high levels of staffing, to access a range of building and community based meaningful activities that meet individual outcomes.
This role requires staff to be able to develop and deliver a stimulating person centred, outcome focused service, in line with West Lothian Council policy and procedure and Care Inspectorate guidance, as well as key National Strategies
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate practical skills, knowledge and understanding in how to support and enable people through a range of interactions and adopting a creative holistic approach to an individual’s care and support to meet social, health and wellbeing requirements.
The role includes providing full ‘hands-on care’ with support for personal care, physical and mobility management as well as supporting people to eat lunches/snacks and have drinks.
Service users also require support from staff with communication both understanding and expression, including enabling and supporting people to express their likes, dislikes and wishes.
This role is extremely rewarding but can be demanding at the same time and you must be able to physically support service users to access community based and building based activities in a way that ensures service user’s experiences are meaningful as well as carry out personal care support.

The successful candidate will be expected to record information and maintain a degree of paperwork including involvement with care plans in both electronic and written forms.
HNC Health and Social Care or SVQ 3 (Health and Social Care – Adults) are desirable for this post. However, it is a must that applicants are able to demonstrate they can meet the essential criteria set out.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
