Field Service Engineer (Trainee)

We currently have a fantastic role for a Field Service Engineer to join a fantastic engineering company based in Ringwood.
Thisrole is designed as a development opportunity for a candidate wishing to progress their engineering career within a specialist technical environment. This will start with full training on-site in Ringwood working in the Test teamproviding hands-on experience with the testing and evaluation of their equipment. After training, the role will progressinto a Field Service Engineer position, delivering installation, commissioning, training, maintenance, repairs and remote customer support for the site's product range in the UK and worldwide so if you want to see the world and get paid for it, please apply and we can discuss further details.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Training Period:
Develop your understanding of the sites equipment by learning to carry out functional product testing.
Buildcompetence in electrical diagnostics by learning to conduct fault finding on site, and under supervision at customer sites.
Strengthen your practical engineering skills by performing electrical inspection and continuity checks prior to functional testing to confirm equipment readiness.
Gain experience in product set up and calibration
Progression to Field Service Engineer:
After the training period, you will take on full Field Service Engineer duties, delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs and remote customer support for the sitesequipment.
Demonstrate professionalism, technical competence, fairness and customer awareness in all interactions with end users and stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the UK and USA to resolve customer issues, share knowledge and contribute to process improvements.
Deliver remote and on-site service training or operational assistance to end users.
Increase technical proficiency by completing relevant in person or online product training modules.
Manage global travel arrangements and expenses
Ideal Skills &Background
This role would be ideal for an Engineer or Technician with some hands-on experience whos looking to further develop their practical skills and take on more responsibility.
Possession of a valid drivers licence.
An aptitude for learning electrical and mechaical techniques
Confident IT user with the ability to learn company systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and operate independently once trained.
Comfortable with extended driving and overseas travel and ability to travel, including overnight stays and occasional weekend work, often at short notice.
Willingness to work extended hours or adjust schedules at short notice to support customer requirements.
A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable:
Exposure to PLC programming or automation systems.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems or previous hands-on workshop experience.
Prior use of CRM systems
Experience preparing technical reports or documentation.
Any previous customer-facing engineering or technical support experience. xwzovoh
Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean / 5S activities
Background in low-volume, intermittent production and high-mix manufacturing environments
Salary
£30K - £35K
