Maritime Intelligence Analyst (Permanent)Surrey | Hybrid workingA fast-growing UK maritime surveillance and data business is expanding its analyst/data capability and is looking for a Maritime Intelligence Analyst to turn complex maritime data into clear, actionable insight for government, security and commercial stakeholders.What you'll doMonitor maritime activity using AIS, sensor feeds and OSINTIdentify and assess unusual, suspicious or high-risk vessel behavioursProduce alerts, vessel summaries, incident reports, threat assessments and briefingsBuild customer-ready analytical outputs (dashboards/models/workflows) that make maritime data operationalPartner with product, ML, engineering and customer teams to improve tools and processesMaintain watchlists, reporting standards and repeatable intelligence workflowsWhat we're looking forRelevant degree (maritime-focused) or experience in maritime intelligence/security, shipping, insurance, risk, defence or similarPython and SQL (essential) - used to analyse data and create repeatable analytical workflows/productsStrong judgement, curiosity and evidence-based decision makingExposure to maritime domain awareness, vessel behaviour analysis, AIS, geospatial data, OSINT or sensor-derived intelligenceClear, concise written reporting and confident communication with stakeholdersComfortable working independently in a fast-moving environmentNice to haveExperience with maritime data platforms, GIS, intel databases or visual analytics toolsKnowledge of piracy, smuggling, illegal fishing, sanctions evasion or grey-zone maritime activityOps centre / watchkeeping / incident monitoring / customer briefing experienceWhy joinMission-led work supporting maritime safety and security outcomesHands-on exposure to a diverse sensor stack (e.g., radar, EO/IR, AIS, ADS-B) including shore-based and drone-mounted deploymentsReal ownership and visible impact from day one in an innovative team
