You’ll be working as part of our Oxfordshire Highways contract, supporting the delivery of essential highway infrastructure services across the county.
You’ll be part of our Highways Operations team based in our highways depot in Drayton (near Didcot) with frequent visits to other depot and works locations within Oxfordshire.

What you’ll be doing
Design of traffic management for safety defects worksites using Causeway and specialist software such as AutoCAD.
Help develop and continuously improve process of traffic management design for safety defects, working collaboratively with our client and operational teams.
Embed the traffic management improvements within our new Operational Delivery Hub to ensure we maximise efficient scheduling of safety defect repairs.
Work closely with our Local Service Control team, Operations team and supply chain in both depots to maintain a high level of service in scheduling, delivering and checking defect repairs.
Regular site visits to check ongoing site works to ensure compliance with national traffic management standards, as well as surveying future worksites to collect site data.
Monitor performance data to check we are achieving a ‘right first time’ approach within contractual timescales.
A strong focus on health and safety will be central to the role. You’ll help ensure we deliver high quality permanent safety defect repairs wherever possible, whilst keeping our operational staff safe.
What you’ll bring
Proven experience of working in a highway maintenance environment.
A working knowledge of traffic management design using Chapter 8 Traffic Signs Manual and the associated Code of Practice.
National Highways Sector Scheme: 12D M7 qualification desirable.
Good IT skills are essential, with proven ability of working both MS Office software, and technical software including AutoCAD.
Strong communication skills with experience of working in a collaborative operational team environment.
Full UK Driving Licence.
CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain)
