Manufacturing Engineer - Buckinghamshire - 6 Month Contract (Outside IR35) Role: Manufacturing Engineer Duration: 6-Month Initial Contract / Outside IR35 Rate: £45 - £55 per hour Full-Time On-Site We are supporting a highly innovative engineering and technology business developing next-generation products within a fast-paced advanced manufacturing environment. Due to continued programme growth, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support production readiness, process optimisation, tooling development and continuous improvement activities across multiple engineering workstreams. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from high-performance engineering sectors such as Motorsport, Formula 1, Aerospace, UAVs, Drones, eVTOL, Electric Vehicles, Defence or other advanced manufacturing environments. Develop, implement and optimise manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, throughput and repeatability. Design and develop production tooling, fixtures and assembly aids to support manufacturing operations. Drive process improvement initiatives across assembly, integration and production activities. Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition from development into production. Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks, waste and non-value-added activities. Work closely with Design, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams to improve manufacturability and production performance. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, standard operating procedures and manufacturing plans. Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities relating to quality and production issues. Participate in design reviews, providing Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) input. Support production layout planning, workflow optimisation and capacity improvements. Develop assembly methods and manufacturing strategies for low-volume, high-complexity products. Support supplier and manufacturing partner engagement where required. Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a high-performance or advanced engineering environment. Strong background in process improvement, production optimisation and continuous improvement activities. Experience designing production tooling, fixtures, jigs and assembly aids. Experience supporting NPI, prototype build and production ramp-up activities. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production engineering and assembly operations. Ability to analyse manufacturing issues and implement practical engineering solutions. Essential Software Skills Ability to interpret and manipulate complex CAD assemblies and engineering data. Experience generating manufacturing and tooling designs directly from CAD models. Aerospace Advanced Composite Manufacturing High-Performance Engineering The successful candidate will be a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys working close to the product and production environment. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-moving engineering organisation, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing robust manufacturing solutions that enhance quality, efficiency and scalability.
