As an Optical Assistant, you will support patients throughout their journey, from booking appointments and carrying out pre-screening tests to helping customers choose frames and lenses that suit their needs and lifestyle. You will work closely with the clinical team to ensure every patient receives an excellent standard of care and service. Key Responsibilities * Welcoming patients and managing appointments * Assisting customers with frame and lens selection * Carrying out basic pre-screening tests before eye examinations * Supporting dispensing and fitting of spectacles * Processing orders, payments, and NHS paperwork * Maintaining accurate patient records * Providing excellent customer service and aftercare support * Ensuring the practice remains clean, organised, and professional What We’re Looking For * Previous experience in optical, retail, healthcare, or customer service roles * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Professional and approachable manner * Good attention to detail and organisational skills * Ability to work effectively within a team * Passion for delivering outstanding patient care Desirable Experience * Previous Optical Assistant experience * Knowledge of frames, lenses, and optical products * Experience using optical practice systems
