What to Expect
We are recruiting for a Material Controller to join our fantastic MSO department in Woking. This is a role which requires the candidate to work closely with assigned suppliers to ensure ordered materials arrive into McLaren on-time and in-full. The role is responsible for all aspects of supplier logistics quality thereby ensuring the efficient and effective inbound flow of material to support MSO’s bespoke, heritage and private commission programmes.
What You'll Do
* Create and maintain achievable delivery plans that satisfy the combined requirements of production, dealer-fit, MSO workshop and any other sources * Support MSO’s Idea-to-Fulfilment process alongside other departments to ensure suppliers can deliver bespoke requests * Manage appropriate processes with the suppliers for the early identification, communication and mitigation of supply risk. * To be the point of contact for your assigned suppliers and the related material availability concerns within the organisation. * Work with supplier contacts to ensure an effective, mutually beneficial, working relationship. * Work with on boarding suppliers, including supply chain setup and readiness * To adopt an approach of continuous improvement for both internal processes and supplier logistics quality with your suppliers. * Own and manage assigned supplier MSO stock to the correct inventory levels whilst minimising premium freight spend and obsolescence to deliver stability to McLaren’s operations * To manage your supply base against defined KPIs to support business improvement
What You'll Bring
* Understanding of Automotive OEM supply chains and supplier manufacturing processes * Experience of working with MRP and or SAP is desirable * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally * Resilient, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines * Ambitious and self-reliant. Intrinsically self-motivated * Strong excel and data interpretation skills * Comprehensive grasp of planning principles and objectives * Excellent verbal & written commination skills with ability to communicate with stakeholders, both internally and externally, in ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met * Structured and organised approach to the management of work with excellent organizational skills * Proven ability to work within tight deadlines and to be able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently * An ability to apply problem solving techniques to routine situations or situations of moderate complexity under supervision * A team player with good communication skills and the ability to multi-task and operate effectively in a fast paced, ever-changing environment Personal attributes: * Strong communicator with the capability to challenge, engage and influence all stakeholders within a dynamic and cross functional environment * Proactive and tenacious nature, taking initiative and using failure as an opportunity to learn * An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, responds constructively to new ideas and input in a changing business environment * An individual who is able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style * Driven by accuracy with fastidious attention to detail * Has unquestionable personal and professional integrity * Self-motivated to deliver excellence and perform beyond targets to exceed customer expectations
