Milk Education is partnering with a well-regarded primary school in Leigh (WN7) to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2026! 

This temporary SEND Teaching Assistant position involves working one-to-one with a child in Year 3 who has Autism. The ideal candidate will be patient, nurturing, and highly adaptable to the individual learning needs of the child.
You will play a key role in supporting the pupil’s educational and emotional development within a structured and caring environment. The School is looking for someone who is caring, patient, nurturing and accommodating to all children’s needs.

This temporary SEND Teaching Assistant position will start in September 2026 and will initially run until December 2026. The hours of work are 08:30 am- 15:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism 
  • Keep the child engaged and on task throughout the school day
  • Prepare daily resources and support learning activities
  • Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
  • Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and Complex Needs
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to supporting the child’s academic and emotional development
