Factory Operative

We are seeking diligent, enthusiastic, and dependable individuals with a strong work ethic to operate slitting and rewinding machines y, preparing rolls of stamping foils in accordance with customer orders. This role is ideal for practically minded candidates who can work safely using their own initiative, while also collaborating effectively within a dedicated, customer-focused team. The position involves shift work. Key Responsibilities: • Loading and unloading slitting and rewinding machines • Setting up and operating machines, including adjusting cutting blades, tension, and brake settings • Inspecting products for quality during operation and making necessary adjustments • Unloading, cleaning, and labelling prepared rolls for customer orders • Completing production order confirmations using the SAP system • Regularly cleaning machines and maintaining high housekeeping standards • Operating reach trucks and roll-lifting equipment when required • Undertaking additional duties as directed by the Factory Manager Essential Skills and Attributes: • Ability to work safely in a busy factory environment • Experience operating machinery is advantageous but not essential • Accuracy, reliability, and flexibility • Positive, proactive ‘can-do’ attitude • Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a dedicated, customer-focused team • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently • Good manual dexterity • Adaptability to undertake various tasks as required • Competent English language and numeracy skills • Basic IT proficiency • Good colour vision • Reasonable level of fitness and adherence to manual handling guidelines, as some rolls may be heavy • Forklift licence is desirable • Previous manufacturing experience is advantageous Key Relationships: Customer Service Team, Operations Team Benefits: • Long-term career opportunities with a reputable company in the printing industry • Comprehensive training provided • Competitive salary package • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service • Contributory company pension scheme • Discretionary annual bonus scheme • Free on-site parking • Occasional Saturday overtime, subject to order levels Working Hours: This is a Monday to Friday position, which may include shift patterns. is £27,750.00.
