Hays Technology is partnering with a leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced VP lead Analyst to join its Risk & Controls function on a day-rate contract basis.
This is a highly visible position responsible for driving the execution and enhancement of the Managers Control Self-Assessment (MCA) / Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework across a complex business environment. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen control effectiveness, identify operational risks, drive remediation activities, and support the ongoing transformation of the control framework.
This opportunity would suit an experienced professional from an Operational Risk, Controls, Audit, Compliance, or Risk Governance background who is looking to make a tangible impact in a large-scale financial services organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe role will be part of the project team, and you will be responsible for:
Manage annual, semi-annual, quarterly and monthly control attestation processes
Identify, assess and monitor operational risks, control gaps and emerging issues
Drive the timely remediation of control deficiencies and operational events
Develop and enhance risk and control assessment methodologies and reporting tools
Monitor key risk and control metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement
Maintain comprehensive reporting and tracking inventories
Drive consistency, best practices and transformation initiatives across control functions
Partner with senior stakeholders to enhance the overall risk and control environment
Support regulatory and governance requirements through effective risk management practices
To be successful in this role, you will be expected to possess the following skills/experience:
6+ years' experience within Operational Risk, Controls, Audit, Compliance or Risk Management
Proven experience identifying, assessing and managing operational risk
Financial Services experience is essential
Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret large and complex data sets
Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting and visualisation tools such as Tableau
Demonstrated experience improving processes and implementing sustainable control solutions
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to influence and engage senior management
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
This role will require you to be in the Belfast office 3 days per week. Only candidates with the ability to attend the office will be considered.
