Digital Planner looking for a more commercial move?

I’m working with a growing independent media business that is looking to hire someone from a digital agency background who wants to move into a more commercial, client-facing role.


This could be a strong move for someone currently in digital planning, media planning, account management or campaign strategy who enjoys the client conversations, the ideas, the brief response process and the commercial side but wants to step closer to revenue.


This is not a hard-nosed cold sales role.


The business sells creative, digital-first media solutions into agencies and brands, with a strong focus on campaigns that need more thought, stronger storytelling and better audience engagement than standard media formats.


They are looking for someone around the £40k-£45k level who understands how agencies operate, how briefs are shaped, and how to build trust with planning and client teams.


The role would suit someone who:

  • Comes from a digital agency, media agency or client-facing media role
  • Understands planning, campaign strategy or brief response
  • Is confident speaking to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Has a good commercial instinct and wants to develop it further
  • Likes creative media, smart ideas and digital innovation
  • Wants to move into sales without jumping into a purely cold outbound role


You’ll be working closely with senior commercial people, learning how to turn agency briefs into revenue opportunities, and building relationships across agency teams.


For the right person, this is a proper career pivot: agency-side planning experience into a sales/commercial role, with support, training and a genuinely interesting product set behind you.
