Assistant Site Manager - Main Contractor

Assistant Site Manager – Industrial & Logistics West Midlands | Multiple Sites | Permanent We are looking to recruit 2–3 Assistant Site Managers for an established and successful main contractor specialising in the delivery of industrial, logistics and commercial construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious Assistant Site Managers looking to build their experience with a contractor delivering projects across the Midlands and wider UK. The roles will initially be based from Sandwell, but you will work between live projects depending on workload and project requirements. A full UK driving licence and your own ability to travel between sites is therefore essential. The Role Working alongside experienced Site Managers and Project Managers, you'll support the day-to-day delivery of industrial and logistics construction projects. Projects typically involve new-build industrial units, warehouses and logistics facilities incorporating steel frames, cladding, concrete floor slabs, offices, service yards, car parks and associated external works. Your responsibilities will develop with your experience and will include: * Supporting the Site Manager with day-to-day site operations * Coordinating subcontractors and trades * Monitoring programme and progress * Health & safety management * Quality inspections and snagging * Site documentation and record keeping * Assisting with short-term programming * Attending site and progress meetings * Liaising with subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team * Helping drive projects through to successful completion About You We're interested in Assistant Site Managers who already have some construction site management experience and are looking for the opportunity to progress. Industrial/logistics experience would be particularly advantageous, although candidates from a strong general contracting background will also be considered. You'll need to be organised, confident communicating with subcontractors and keen to continue learning and developing. Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid would be advantageous. A full UK driving licence is essential as the position will involve travelling between sites.
