About the role

Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading Aerospace organisation to recruit a Manufacturing Project Manager for an initial 12 month contract. There is a pay rate of £45 Per Hour PAYE OR £59.81 Per Hour Umbrella on offer for the successful candidate. The role would be full time on site in Gloucester.

The Manufacturing Engineering team is central to the production organisation and ensures robust, high-quality products are delivered in line with customer expectations.
You will lead industrialisation projects linked to design changes, new product introduction (NPI) and industrial transfers , taking ownership from concept through to stable, repeatable production.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Group Leader., you will:
Lead industrialisation projects for design changes, new product introduction (NPI) and industrial transfers
Manage the full project lifecycle, delivering on time, on scope and on budget
Work in both office and production environments, supporting process, inspection and equipment development and validation
Coordinate cross-functional teams (Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain and, where applicable, the customer)
Ensure manufacturing readiness for ramp-up and stable series production, in line with industrialisation procedures and aerospace requirements (e.g. FAIR, APQP, PPAP)
Drive system and process improvement projects, analysing current practice and delivering robust, sustainable solutions
Provide clear, regular status updates and reports to stakeholders across the business
Candidate Requirements
Technical Skills
Strong technical background in manufacturing/industrial engineering
Good understanding of manufacturing processes: machining, assembly, special processes
Experience of industrialisation in aerospace or automotive environments
Practical experience with APQP / NPI tools: PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, control plans
Ability to compile and review PPAP documentation, including technical details
Experience working to aerospace regulatory and company procedures (FAIR, APQP)
Lean experience (Green Belt preferred)
Proven experience planning, coordinating and delivering industrialisation or manufacturing projects in a production environment
Basic SAP knowledge advantageous
Knowledge of Aero Excellence an advantage but not essential
Personal Skills
Strong analytical skills and a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
Able to identify blocking points and drive effective corrective actions
Excellent people skills; able to engage and motivate cross-functional teams
Energetic, self-motivated and well organised, with a strong sense of ownership
Able to lead without formal authority and manage stakeholders from shop floor to senior leadership (including vice presidents)
Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Positive attitude towards development and learning new skills
Experience
Previous experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment (automotive experience also valued)
