Mechanical Design Engineer

An award-winning, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing Building Services team. The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion. Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you will contribute to technically challenging and rewarding projects while developing your professional career in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities * Design and develop mechanical building services systems including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, and domestic water services * Produce technical calculations, specifications, reports, and design documentation * Create and review detailed drawings using industry-standard design software * Coordinate designs with electrical, architectural, and structural teams * Attend design meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders * Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, and sustainability targets * Support project delivery from concept through to handover Candidate Requirements * Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering * Experience in mechanical design within a consultancy or contractor environment * Knowledge of HVAC and building services design principles * Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or similar * Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidance * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Desirable * Experience in sustainable or low-carbon building design * BIM/Revit coordination experience * Project management or client-facing experience What’s on Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package * Hybrid/flexible working options * Clear career progression and professional development support * Exposure to prestigious and technically diverse projects * Collaborative and supportive engineering culture * Opportunity to work with an established, award-winning consultancy Interested?
