LCV Fitter

Job Role: LCV Fitter Location: Sizewell Duration: Long - term (2 years +) Pay rate: £19.10 per hour Our client Sizewell is looking for experienced and reliable LCV mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of LGV's. This role ensures vehicles remain safe, compliant, and fully operational to support production and site efficiency. Duties Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on LGVs, trailers, and associated fleet vehicles. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults. Ensure all work meets DVSA, manufacturer, and company compliance requirements. Complete preventative maintenance tasks and defect rectification. Replace and repair components such as brakes, clutches, suspension, steering systems, gearboxes, and engines. Conduct roadside breakdown repairs when required. Maintain accurate job sheets, service records, and inspection documentation. Keep the workshop and equipment safe, clean, and well maintained.Requirements: Hands-on technical experience, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a maintenance team. Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills and experience working on LGVs. Familiarity with reading schematics and technical diagrams is essential. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is required. Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle systems and components. Previous experience in equipment repair or general maintenance is advantageous. Good communication and reporting skills.Qualifications: CSCS & HSE CITB Test NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent). City & Guilds Light Vehicle qualifications (desirable). MOT Tester licence (beneficial). Abrasive Wheels LOTO - Electrical Safety Briefing (or equivalent).
