About the role
A market-leading aerospace manufacturing and engineering business producing complex products for major civil and defence aerospace customers is seeking a Head of Supply Chain Planning. The Head f Supply Chain Planning will be responsible for developing and executing the company's planning strategy across demand planning, supply planning, production scheduling, inventory optimisation, and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP).
The Head of Supply Chain Planning will provide strategic leadership for planning processes, systems, and data governance, ensuring the business can effectively balance customer demand, operational capability, and inventory performance whilst supporting continued growth and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities of the Head of Supply Chain Planning include:
Define and deliver the company's supply chain planning strategy.
Lead the SIOP process, driving alignment across Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Finance.
Develop world-class demand planning, supply planning, production scheduling, and inventory management capabilities.
Own and enhance ERP, MRP, forecasting, and planning systems to support business objectives.
Improve forecast accuracy, inventory performance, material availability, and customer delivery performance.
Lead planning transformation, systems development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive data governance, planning analytics, and performance reporting.
Identify and mitigate supply and demand risks across the business.
Build and develop a high-performing planning team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Head of Supply Chain Planning applicants should meet the following criteria:
Proven leadership experience in supply chain planning, materials management, or operations planning within a manufacturing environment.
Strong expertise in SIOP, demand and supply planning, production scheduling, inventory optimisation, and ERP/MRP systems.
Demonstrable success in driving planning transformation, process improvement, and operational performance.
Experience within a regulated aerospace, defence, or advanced manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple business functions.
Degree qualified and/or professionally qualified in a relevant discipline, with knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, AS9100, IBP, APICS/CPIM, or Lean Six Sigma considered advantageous
