Electrical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established, specialist provider to the Marine sector, based in Central Scotland. This role offers end-to-end involvement across the full project lifecycle, including electrical hardware control panel design, PLC integration, final testing and commissioning, and the production of high-quality technical documentation, all within a collaborative, project-driven environment. Electrical Design Engineer £40,000 - £65,000 + Profit share & benefits package.   Glasgow  Ref: 22725 Electrical Design Engineer - The Role: Development of electrical panels containing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), LV modular distribution systems incorporating MCC’s, Transformers or Switchboards. Involvement throughout whole lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and configuration and documentation (working throughout to full QA procedures)   Bid support, travel for technical input, customer liaison, input to sales proposals Working within project team to customer deadlines Providing technical support and guidance to a team of 2 Electrical Engineer’s Design of electrical cabling and containment systems Able to develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectations Electrical Design Engineer - The Person: Previous experience as an Electrical Design Engineer   Good customer facing skills Knowledge of the full project lifecycle Innovative hardware background Passion for engineering with significant experience to draw from   Ideally a solid understanding of PLC/SCADA system software and how it integrates into the panel Any experience of AutoCAD would be highly advantageous – other mainstream electrical CAD packages (i.e. EPlan) also easily transferable Instrumentation background highly preferred, as well as industry background of Marine / Oil & Gas / Water The position comes with an excellent comprehensive benefits package including; Employee Ownership Scheme, Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme, Cycle to Work, Technology Vouchers and an Employee Assistance Program.
