HGV Class 2 Driver – Reading (Temp to Perm) £18.00 per hour (Temp) | £42,870 per annum once permanent 5 on 2 off shift pattern | 45 hours per week | Deliveries across the South of England & London We are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver for a temp‑to‑perm opportunity based in Reading. This is an excellent chance to secure a long‑term, stable position with a well‑established company after a successful 12‑week temporary period. The role involves the delivery and collection of goods across the South of England, including London, with some heavy lifting required. Key Responsibilities: Carry out Class 2 deliveries and collections from the Reading depot; cover routes across the South of England and London; load and unload goods, including heavy lifting; complete all paperwork accurately; ensure safe and compliant driving; maintain vehicle cleanliness and report defects. Shift Pattern & Hours: 5 on 2 off rotation including weekends; 45 hours per week; overtime may be available. Pay & Benefits: £18.00 per hour during the temporary period; £42,870 per annum once permanent after 12 weeks; weekly pay during temp period; long‑term employment opportunity; supportive team and well‑maintained fleet. Candidate Requirements: Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence; valid CPC qualification; valid Digital Tachograph card; minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience (insurance requirement); ability to carry out heavy lifting; good knowledge of driving regulations; reliable and professional approach.
