Practice Accountant

An established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Mansfield are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing team, with the firm willing to consider Manager level applicants too. This is a varied Senior Accountant to Manager opportunity suited to someone with strong practice experience, who is confident managing a portfolio of clients and producing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. The successful Senior Accountant / Manager will have the opportunity to become increasingly involved in client meetings, management accounts, software training and reviewing work produced by junior members of the team, with genuine scope for progression as client relationships develop. Key Responsibilities: Managing a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate client records Preparing and submitting VAT returns Preparing year-end accounts through to management review Producing management accounts where required Attending client meetings and providing ongoing accounting support Training clients on Xero and QuickBooks Reviewing work and supporting junior members of the team Assisting with the implementation of new accounting software and improving internal processes  Benefits: 35-hour working week Flexible working hours 34 days' annual leave Up to 10 additional flexi days through accrued flexi time 7% employer pension contribution Genuine opportunities for career progression Varied client-facing role with increasing responsibility  About the Practice Accountant Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant or practice accountant looking for a varied position within an established local accountancy firm.
