Associate Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity

Lead complex electrical engineering projects, develop your team and help shape the direction of an established building services consultancy.

Apex M&E Solutions is recruiting a Principal / Associate Electrical Building Services Engineer for a Sheffield-based practice with a diverse project portfolio and ambitious growth plans.

The consultancy works across healthcare, education, residential, commercial and leisure projects. Its wider portfolio includes refurbishments, new-build developments valued at £50m+, master planning, site-wide infrastructure and HV work.

This role offers substantial responsibility for technical delivery, commercial performance and client relationships.

The role

Take ownership of significant and complex electrical design projects.

Provide technical leadership, undertake design reviews and enforce quality assurance procedures.

*

Plan resources, manage programmes and deliver against agreed budgets.

*

Develop client relationships, secure work and negotiate project scope and fees.

*

Identify and manage variations, including additional services and revised timescales.

*

Lead and develop engineers, supporting recruitment, appraisals and performance.

*

Contribute to longer-term business planning and development.

What you’ll bring

*

At least 10 years’ engineering design experience.

*

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.

*

Chartered Engineer status and professional institution membership.

*

A strong record of successful electrical design project delivery.

*

Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.

*

Proficiency with electrical design and project management software.

*

The leadership, communication and commercial skills to manage teams and build client confidence.
