HGV Workshop Manager

Hours: 47.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

We are recruiting an experienced Workshop Manager/ Technician to join our in-house workshop maintaining our own fleet of commercial vehicles.

This is a Monday-Friday, days-only role with no night shifts or weekend work , offering a stable and predictable working environment.

Unlike many HGV roles, you will be working on a local, well-maintained fleet within our own workshop - no long-distance travel or constant roadside pressure .

What You'll Be Doing

To assist the Group Transport Manager in maintaining the group vehicle fleet
To Manage workshop staff and facility to deliver high levels of service and productivity as required.
Working with external contractors as required
Planning/ managing work for a team of up to 4 technicians at our Chichester workshop
Overseeing the Servicing, inspections/routine maintenance including repairs of HGV vehicles
MOT preparation and presentation
Fault finding (mechanical and basic electrical)
Parts ordering/ maintaining stock as required
Maintaining accurate service and compliance records to required standards
Supporting the upkeep of a clean and safe workshop environment
Attending breakdowns as required from time to time and helping with vehicle movements

About You

Experience working on HGVs or commercial fleet essential
In depth Knowledge of inspections, servicing and MOT prep to DVSA standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
HGV licence (desirable but not essential)

Monday to Friday
07:00 - 17:00
47.5 hours per week
No night shifts
