Electrical Project Engineer to work on a large substation project for the next 1 – 2 years in Ipswich, Suffolk Paying £425 – 450 a day + Outside IR35 + Site/ Home working + Long Term We are currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a strong Electrical background to support a major substation project based in Ipswich. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering over 1 – 2 years of work, with a planned start date in July/August 2026. Role Overview The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering substation works, coordinating engineering activities, supporting site teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. Key Requirements * Proven experience working as a Project Engineer within the utilities, power, or energy sector * Strong Electrical engineering background * Previous experience working on substation projects is essential * Ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site activities * Strong understanding of HSE and quality standards * Excellent communication and organisational skills Responsibilities * Support delivery of substation installation and upgrade works * Review engineering drawings and technical documentation * Liaise with clients, site teams, and subcontractors * Ensure works are completed in line with programme and specifications * Assist with planning, reporting, and project coordination * Maintain high safety and quality standards throughout delivery Contract Details * Location: Ipswich * Start Date: July / August 2026 * Duration: 12+ months * Rate: £400 – £450 per day * Contract: Outside IR35 Please ring Ollie at HP4 Recruitment or send your CV on the details listed
