We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Northampton who are looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026 or sooner.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive school environment while making a real impact on students' learning and behaviour.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
As a Cover Supervisor, you will support the school by supervising classes during teacher absences. Lesson work will already be set, and your role will be to ensure students remain focused, engaged, and working productively.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise whole classes across KS3 and KS4 in a range of subjects
Ensure students complete the work set by the teacher
Maintain a positive, calm, and structured classroom environment
Manage behaviour in line with school policies
Report any concerns to relevant staff members
Support wider school duties such as break and corridor supervision
Act as a positive role model for students at all times
Who We're Looking For
Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, mentoring, care, or similar)
Confident, calm, and professional classroom presence
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable in a school setting
A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development
