Role Overview


Step into a high-impact leadership role where strategy meets delivery. As Deputy to the Global Account Manager, you will shape and execute the growth strategy for a major global Aerospace & Defence OEM. You will operate at the heart of ALTEN’s most strategic account, driving multi‑year growth, leading commercial campaigns, and ensuring delivery excellence to position ALTEN as a trusted, long-term partner. This is a unique opportunity to combine account leadership, commercial ownership, and international coordination in a highly visible and influential role.

Key Responsibilities


1. Account Strategy & Growth Leadership

  • Develop and own a robust, multi-year account strategy aligned with client priorities and market dynamics
  • Identify high-value growth opportunities, differentiators, and competitive positioning
  • Define and maintain a clear 3-year roadmap shared across all contributing entities
  • Translate strategic insights into concrete actions and commercial outcomes


2. Execution, Governance & Leadership

  • Drive execution of the account strategy across geographies and business units
  • Lead the operating rhythm (pipeline reviews, forecasts, governance forums) to ensure consistent delivery
  • Coordinate stakeholders to maintain alignment, pace, and accountability
  • Act as Deputy GAM, representing ALTEN at senior level when required.


3. Client Engagement & Strategic Positioning

  • Engage senior client stakeholders to build trusted, long-term relationships
  • Position ALTEN as a value-creating partner, not a transactional supplier
  • Promote the full ALTEN ecosystem, ensuring integrated and global client coverage
  • Drive a one-ALTEN approach, avoiding fragmented engagement


4. Contract Governance & Delivery Assurance

  • Own the end-to-end management of contractual frameworks (MSAs, KPIs, SLAs, security requirements)
  • Maintain a single, accurate source of truth for all contractual commitments
  • Ensure performance against contractual obligations, proactively managing risks and escalations
  • Lead performance reviews, change control, and renewals to secure long-term engagement


5. Business Development & Strategic Campaigns

  • Lead or support high-value sales and pre-sales campaigns
  • Ensure alignment between client expectations, commercial commitments, and delivery capabilities
  • Drive deal quality and win strategy, increasing conversion on strategic opportunities


6. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as a connector across Sales, Delivery, Finance, Legal, and Group teams
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across ALTEN entities
  • Increase visibility of ALTEN capabilities to unlock cross-division growth
  • Continuously improve account performance, governance, and efficiency


Success Measures

  • Sustained revenue growth and margin improvement on the account
  • Increased volume and success rate of strategic deals (RFI/RFQ)
  • Strong, clearly articulated account strategy aligned across teams
  • High-performing, well-coordinated global account governance
  • Consistently positive client engagement and feedback

What are we looking for?


  • 9+ years’ experience in sales, account management, or delivery leadership within Aerospace, Defence, or industrial sectors
  • Strong experience managing complex B2B environments and key accounts
  • Proven ability to drive strategy execution and influence senior stakeholders
  • Solid background in structured sales, contract management, and deal governance
  • Experience working in matrix and international organisations
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline
  • Highly collaborative, able to influence without authority
  • Strong commercial instinct combined with structured approach
  • Confident communicator at senior and executive levels
  • Results-driven, proactive, and accountable.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; (Mandatory)
  • Eligible for (and willing to obtain) Security Clearance
  • Willingness to travel across UK locations (London, Derby, Bristol)
