About the role
Associate Director - Cost Management
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Associate Director - Cost Management to join a growing consultancy team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager to take a leading role across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout Northern Ireland and the wider island of Ireland.
You will work directly with clients, project teams and senior stakeholders across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, infrastructure, public sector, regeneration and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial and cost management of projects from pre- to post-contract.
Prepare cost estimates, cost plans and tender documentation.
Provide procurement advice, tender analysis and recommendations.
Manage valuations, change control, cost reporting and final accounts.
Provide contract administration and commercial management advice.
Lead risk management and value engineering activities.
Develop strong, long-term client relationships.
Support business development and fee management.
Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
About You
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management or a related discipline.
MRICS preferred, although candidates working towards professional qualification will be considered.
Strong pre- and post-contract experience.
Experience working with construction contracts such as JCT, NEC or similar.
Previous consultancy experience is highly desirable.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
Proven leadership and team development experience.
Excellent commercial, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience across multiple sectors would be advantageous.
Strong Microsoft Office skills; CostX experience is desirable.
A track record of business development and developing client relationships.
