My client is looking for a highly experienced Interim Senior HR Procurement / Category Lead to take ownership of a high-profile HR procurement portfolio within a complex, global organisation.

This is a senior, hands-on interim assignment requiring someone who can come in and make an immediate impact. You will act as the procurement subject-matter expert for HR, partnering with senior HR and business stakeholders to shape category strategy, lead major sourcing initiatives and drive commercial value across a broad range of HR services.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong HR category expertise gained within Financial Services, Insurance or similarly complex and highly regulated corporate environments.

You will take a leading role across the HR category, providing strategic procurement expertise while remaining hands-on in the delivery of key sourcing and commercial initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing category and sourcing strategies across a broad portfolio of HR spend
• Acting as the senior procurement partner to HR leadership and other key business stakeholders
• Leading complex, high-value sourcing programmes, RFPs and commercial negotiations
• Managing categories including HR Professional Services, Recruitment & Talent, Learning & Development, Reward & Benefits, Wellbeing, HR Technology and wider People Services
• Challenging existing supplier arrangements and identifying opportunities to improve cost, value, service and commercial outcomes
• Providing strong market insight and supplier intelligence to influence sourcing decisions
• Leading supplier negotiations and supporting the development of robust commercial and contractual arrangements
• Managing key supplier relationships and driving improved supplier performance
• Identifying and mitigating commercial, contractual and supplier risk
• Driving best practice across category management, sourcing, governance and supplier management
• Working across a complex stakeholder environment and influencing at senior level

We are looking for an established HR Procurement / Category Management specialist who can operate credibly and independently from day one.

Required experience:

• Significant HR category procurement experience within a large, complex organisation
• Strong experience across multiple HR subcategories rather than a single area of HR spend
• A background within Financial Services or Insurance xwzovoh would be highly advantageous
• A proven track record of developing and executing HR category strategies
• Experience leading complex sourcing exercises and high-value commercial negotiations
• Excellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify savings, value and risk opportunities
• The credibility to challenge senior stakeholders and act as a trusted procurement advisor
• Experience operating within complex, global or highly regulated organisations
• The ability to quickly understand an organisation, build relationships and deliver at pace
