CNC Setter Operator 

Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: £30,000 – £36,500 per annum
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am–1:00pm

A world-leading aerospace component manufacturer is looking for a CNC Setter Operator Miller to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Milling professional with strong Mazak machining experience, who can confidently work from engineering drawings and manufacture high-quality, small-batch aerospace components to tight tolerances.

The Role

As a CNC Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating milling machinery and producing components accurately and efficiently to customer and engineering requirements.

Duties:

Setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture small-batch components from engineering drawings
Working to tight tolerances and agreed production timescales
Setting a variety of machine tools for operators when required
Using a wide range of precision measuring equipment to inspect components
Ensuring manufactured components are correctly protected and prepared for transit
Mentoring and supporting new members of staff where required
Completing all manufacturing paperwork accurately and correctly
Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping throughout the manufacturing process
Skills & Experience

Extensive Milling experience is essential
Proven skills setting and operating CNC machines
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
Confident using precision measuring equipment
Experience working to tight tolerances
Mazak machining centre experience would be highly advantageous
Ability to work confidently with both Metric and Imperial measurements
Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English would be advantageous
Ideally, you will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant additional training courses
