Your new role
As a Digital Learning Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and delivery of high-quality blended and online learning. Working closely with professional services teams, you will provide expert guidance on digital pedagogy and learning technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
Enhancing the use of the virtual learning environment (VLE) and associated technologies to improve the student experience
Supporting programme teams in designing and delivering engaging online and blended learning provision
Delivering training, workshops, and guidance to build staff capability in digital learning tools and approaches
Providing specialist advice on digital learning design, assessment, and technology integration
Supporting the transition to a new learning platform, ensuring effective adoption and implementation
Promoting innovation and best practice in digital education while ensuring compliance with accessibility, copyright, and data protection standards
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to contribute to both short-term initiatives and long-term digital transformation projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, educational insight, and strong stakeholder engagement skills:
Degree-level education (or equivalent) with evidence of ongoing professional development
Proven experience supporting digital technologies in education, including blended or online learning delivery
Experience of using learning technologies and digital assessment tools, as well as delivering training or workshops
Strong understanding of learning design, and learning technologies
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable experience includes relevant professional certifications (e.g. CMALT), knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design, and involvement in cross-functional or large-scale projects.
