Octopus Energy Engineering is responsible for the sites, services, and tariffs that are used by the millions of Octopus Energy customers worldwide. From building the latest, cutting-edge time-of-use tariffs, to helping customers actually enjoy tasks like providing meter readings through our wheel of fortune - and everything in between.
You’ll find a wide variety of challenges in the work we do as we help push the energy revolution forward. We are looking for a Backend Engineer II to join our Global Backend team at OE Engineering.
The Global Backend team are the powerhouse behind our mission to build the future of energy tech, working on a new backend codebase to be used by all our global Octopus Energy teams.
You'll help migrate and maintain the systems that power flagship features like Saving Sessions and Octoplus, as well as working cross-functionally with other teams to develop features with scalability in mind - shaping the future of low-carbon living, from heat pumps to EV chargers to solar panels.
This is an opportunity to focus on ambitious, high-impact work that's driving the global shift to clean, smart energy.
Python
Django (or equiv. web framework)
Writing robust and fault-tolerant software
Postgres Plus experience in the following would be a bonus:
