Senior Drainage Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer to join our clients expanding team. As a key member of the Environment Team, you'll work towards chartered status and utilize your expertise in drainage design, flood risk assessment, and hydraulic modelling to deliver high-quality projects.You’ll be joining a well-established consultancy formed in the 80s and has remained independent from the start. They work on range in size from small scale, one-off tasks, to large, multi-million-pound projects. They have particular expertise and experience in infrastructure master planning, 3D ground modelling, public transport facilities, highways, engineering traffic management schemes, pumping stations, sewerage, land drainage, flood defences, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS), car parks and utilities.What’s on offerFlexible workingCPD Training & Chartership support with inhouse mentorsAn opportunity to work on diverse projects with experienced professionalsCollaborative and dynamic work environmentProfessional development and growth opportunitiesThe roleTo conduct Flood Risk Assessments and design sustainable drainage systemsTo be able to produce technical reports and contribute to Section 104 and 106 agreementsTo regularly prepare evidence for planning appeals and public enquiriesTo have prior experience and be able to mentor junior staff and disseminate knowledgeTo collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and external authoritiesWhat you need to succeedTo be degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent You must be proficient in Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, PDS, HEC-RAS, and Flood Modeller ProYou must have a strong understanding of current technical standards and guidanceYou must have experience with 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling & excellent report-writing and communication skills
