The platform supports origination, underwriting and portfolio management of transactions across energy, infrastructure, renewables and broader asset-based sectors, working closely with Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets and Global Markets. JOB PURPOSEThe Director will take one of the leading roles in originating, structuring, and executing financing transactions for UK and European insurance clients. The individual will independently manage a portfolio of client relationships, own the delivery of pitch materials and transaction execution, and partner with senior colleagues to grow CIBC's global insurance franchise. They will also work closely with product partners across the Bank to bring holistic, multi-product solutions to our clients.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES• Deal origination and client coverage leadership. Work closely with the team to identify, develop, and progress new opportunities with clients. • Pitch ownership. Own the end-to-end preparation of pitchbooks and client marketing materials.• Transaction execution. Contribute to structuring new transactions, prepare and present internal committee materials, perform in-depth credit analysis, and review legal documentation.• Financial modelling and analysis. Oversee and review financial and capital models used for pitching and lending.• Multi-product client solutions. Leverage CIBC's global platform to deliver holistic solutions to clients, drawing on knowledge of broader financial products including capital markets, derivatives, and risk management solutions.COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES• As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls. AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS • As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS• Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience in the insurance or banking sector.• Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, finance, economics, engineering, science, or any other complementary discipline. Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.• Good working knowledge of insurance regulatory frameworks.• Knowledge of broader financial products including capital markets, derivatives, and risk management solutions.• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to explain and defend loan recommendations, structuring proposals, and detailed analyses to clients, business partners, and internal business and credit committees.• Ability to work within a demanding, dynamic, results-oriented team with a client-centric approach, while managing multiple live workstreams independently.• Demonstrated proficiency in the assessment of unstructured problems.
