About the role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Senior Business Support Officer to join a high-profile London-based programme on an initial three-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced business support professional to contribute to the effective delivery of a complex and collaborative programme, supporting a wide range of stakeholders across the public sector.
Location: Bank, London (Hybrid Working - 2 days per week in the office)
Contract: 3 months initially, with a possibility of extension
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £25.13 per hour via PAYE or £32.84 per hour via Umbrella
The Opportunity
As Senior Business Officer, you will provide essential programme, administrative and financial support, helping to ensure that key activities, governance processes and financial procedures are delivered effectively and on time.
Working within a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating meetings, managing programme documentation and supporting financial administration activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparation of agendas and papers, minute taking and maintenance of action logs.
- Monitor programme actions and deadlines, ensuring key activities are progressed and tracked effectively.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation and audit trails.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, briefings and programme documentation.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Raise and monitor sales invoices and purchase orders in line with agreed processes.
- Maintain accurate financial records, payment schedules and income tracking reports.
- Liaise with finance, procurement and credit control teams to resolve queries and support timely payments.
- Assist with contract administration and procurement processes.
- Support budget monitoring activities and financial reporting requirements.
- Escalate outstanding financial matters where required.
About You
Applications are welcomed from individuals who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience providing business, programme or senior administrative support within a complex organisation.
- Experience coordinating meetings, producing accurate minutes and monitoring actions to completion.
- Financial administration experience, including raising invoices and purchase orders and monitoring payments.
- Experience using Oracle (CBIS) or a similar financial management system.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including maintaining and reconciling financial information.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Experience within local government, the NHS or another public sector organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
