A major financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead delivery across large-scale, complex technology projects, with immediate availability required. You will take ownership of project governance and risk management, working closely with an offshore delivery lead based in India and reporting into senior stakeholders.

This is a governance and risk-focused delivery role suited to a Senior Project Manager with excellent stakeholder management skills and a strong track record of maintaining project governance and risk control without client escalation, ideally within financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Own governance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring risks and issues are identified, tracked and mitigated proactively
• Maintain strong customer-facing relationships and senior stakeholder engagement, governance and communication cadence, ensuring no client escalations
• Work closely with an offshore delivery lead based in India to ensure delivery commitments are met against agreed plans and milestones
• Manage third-party suppliers to ensure delivery commitments are met across the project
• Lead end-to-end delivery of large, complex projects, with full ownership of financial control, cost awareness, estimation and forecasting
• Operate across both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, adapting approach to project and stakeholder needs
• Oversee delivery across application and infrastructure workstreams, including application decommissioning activity where required

Essential Skills

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a strong track record of building trusted relationships and avoiding client escalations
• Strong governance and risk management ownership across the full project lifecycle, with demonstrated use of recognised methods and techniques for risk assessment and management
• Recent experience working within the Financial Services sector
• Has achieved a high level of proficiency in Project Management, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in delivery management
• Has managed major programmes spanning both application and infrastructure xwzovoh delivery, within medium-to-large organisations
• Proven record of realistic estimation, with strong financial/cost awareness alongside customer-facing and behavioural skills to take full responsibility for large projects
• Strong understanding of both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies
• Proven strategic management, project management and leadership skills at the highest levels, across a wide variety of contexts
• Proven track record managing third-party suppliers
• Proven experience of project monitoring, project control and project forecasting

Desirable Skills

• Experience with application decommissioning projects
• Formal Programme/Project Management certifications (e.g. MSP, MoP, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent)
• Experience operating within a shared services or multi-supplier delivery model
