Location:Islington, London Salary: £1,800 - £2,400 per month (depending on experience) Contract: Full-time

About the Role

Veritas Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them access learning and reach their full potential.

The school has a strong focus on inclusion, with a supportive SEN team and a nurturing environment.

The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs)
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's development
  • Experience in a UK school setting (desirable but not essential)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Help implement EHCP targets and support strategies
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
