Operational Buyer

Temporary Operational Buyer  Start ASAP - Ongoing Assignment    Based in North Somerset    Full Time Hours    Pay Rate is £16.50- £18.00ph  About the role This position is responsible for managing a designated supplier base and ensuring strong overall supplier performance, including delivery reliability, cost control, and adherence to quality requirements. You will report into a Senior Buyer and work collaboratively with both internal teams and external suppliers to support smooth procurement operations. Key responsibilities  Creating and managing purchase orders across multiple systems and procurement channels Monitoring MRP outputs and taking appropriate action to accelerate, delay, or cancel outstanding order lines Preparing and issuing RFQs, evaluating supplier quotations, reviewing technical drawings and release data, and establishing replenishment parameters for new components or services Managing and resolving supply related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, invoice discrepancies, overdue orders, and material shortages Driving value through cost reduction initiatives such as supplier benchmarking, value engineering, and optimisation of inventory replenishment approaches Experience Required:  Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities Excellent communication and relationship building skills A demonstrated ability to achieve cost savings and/or improve supplier delivery performance Confidence working in a fast paced environment A proactive, self driven approach with the ability to work independently when required CIPS Level 4 (or equivalent qualification, or relevant hands on experience)  Experience in procurement, purchasing, or a similar role Please click on Apply or call Pertemps on (phone number removed) for more information
