Vehicle Rental Assistant

This is one of those roles where you’ll either read it and think “that’s me!” or it won’t quite fit. It sits within a structured, fast-moving vehicle rental operation where getting the detail right actually matters. Bookings, suppliers, customers, live hires, it all has to line up properly, and when it doesn’t, you’re the one pulling it back into shape. They’re not looking for someone new to rental. They need someone who already understands how the industry works and can hit the ground running. If you’ve worked in vehicle rental, you’ll recognise the pace straight away. If you haven’t, this won’t be the right step. What’s the job? This is a Service Delivery role sitting right at the heart of operations. You’ll be the person making sure vehicle bookings happen properly, customers are looked after, suppliers are doing what they should, and nothing falls through the cracks. It’s fast-paced, there’s volume, things change and you need to be on it. You’ll be handling bookings, speaking to customers, chasing suppliers, fixing problems, and keeping everything moving. The day to day: * Processing vehicle rental bookings accurately and quickly * Handling inbound calls (these come first) * Managing changes, cancellations, and extensions * Chasing suppliers to confirm bookings (and not just assuming they’ve done it) * Keeping customers updated and solving issues when things go wrong * Monitoring live hires and flagging anything that needs action * Supporting reporting and admin tasks * Sharing knowledge with the team, especially around rental processes What do you need? Vehicle rental experience is non-negotiable. You’ll also need: * Experience in a customer-focused, contact-centre-style environment (2+ years) * You’re confident on the phone and you don’t avoid it * You can juggle multiple bookings, queries, and priorities without dropping standards * You’ve dealt with amendments, cancellations, extensions, e.g. the usual rental lifecycle What’s in it for you?
