Senior Production Engineer Permanent Position Monday – Thursday 8am-4:45pm, Friday 1:30pm finish Competitive Salary, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays Bonus scheme, pension Whitchurch Our client are a leading manufacturer providing specialist solutions to a variety of industries such as aerospace, power generation, rail and oil and gas industries. Job Summary: To manage and direct other staff within the production engineering department to ensure projects set are being monitored through to completion. To provide technical support and instructions to all Albright sites on test equipment, assembly jigs, fixtures and tooling. To provide systems & procedures to ensure products are produced to the required manufacturing standards. To investigate, recommend & implement process improvements across all Albright sites to ensure products are produced to the required standards. To work closely & support other Albright Production Engineering departments globally and to ensure site standardisation. To maintain tooling & jig registers for all equipment used in the assembly of Albright products - plus tooling used globally supplied via UK To maintain work & process procedures for product assembly and test. Continual improvement of all process globally to ensure that products are built and tested as efficiently as possible using Lean principles. Development & implementation of specialised test equipment for manufacturing globally. Duties / day to day Provide Production Engineering support to all production areas within the organisation. Provide documentation & reports that allow Producton to build and test products correctly Give technical support on exsisting products & the introduction of new products Ensure all equipment is maintained and operates safely Ensure that equipment in production is maintained & seviced as required Troubleshoot process and testing problems. Assess component manufacture so as to ensure continual process improvements. Diagnose test equipment faults and take remedial/corrective action as required. Ensure that consumables are maintainedQualifications: Recognised Qualification/Certificate in Electro/Mechanical Engineering - HND/HNC prefered Good knowledge of H&Safety within the workplace and safe use of equipment 3 - 5 years experience in a similar manufacturing environment and position. Good practical knowledge of turning, milling, electrical wiring/fault finding electrical test equipment. Computer / keyboarding Skills, along with competent use of Hand Tools and electrical test equipment. Good eye for detail, and the ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
