Health and Safety Coordinator - Immediate Start

Health and Safety Officer (3) (18/959) (18/614) (18/614) You will be responsible for supporting the council in influencing the health and safety culture and ensuring compliance with all aspects of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.   The Council Health and Safety Team, between us, work with a wide range of front-line services such as Education, Social Work Services through to Sport and Leisure Centres, Waste Services, Roads, Customer Services, Community Assets, Building and Civil Engineering Works to enable them to support our communities across the Dumfries and Galloway region.   Three Health and Safety Officer posts are available for recruitment. Particular focus areas are Waste, Building and Civil Engineering works and Education.   You will also have the benefit of support from your colleagues within the dynamic health and safety team and the wider organisation.   You will provide health and safety advice and work closely with managers, employees and safety representatives in mitigating health and safety risks and engage on practical solutions; and pro-actively monitor, audit and review health and safety arrangements for continuous improvement.   You will be enabling the delivery of essential services to the community You will have access to numerous benefits to help with work-life balance flexible working, health and wellbeing policy, carers policy, occupational health, excellent pension and annual leave entitlement, training and development. ~ You will work in a supportive Health and Safety Team with engaged line management   Please make sure you tell us in your application how you meet all the essential criteria and inform us of which particular Safety Officer post(s) interests you.
