Are you a graduate looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in education before pursuing a long-term career working with children or young people?
Educators First is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-supported secondary school in Barry to recruit two Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This role is particularly suited to graduates who want practical experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, youth work, social care, speech and language therapy, counselling, policing, or other child-focused professions.

Several have gone on to teacher training, postgraduate study and specialist education roles after gaining invaluable classroom experience.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting 1–2 pupils throughout the school day
* Helping learners access lessons and remain engaged
* Building positive relationships based on trust and consistency
* Supporting emotional regulation and social development
* Reinforcing key concepts and understanding across subjects
* Working closely with teachers, ALN staff and pastoral teams
* Celebrating progress that isn't always measured by test scores
This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll become a key part of a pupil's educational journey, helping them develop confidence, independence and the understanding needed to succeed throughout their secondary education.
