About the role
Head of Risk & Governance
London | £70,000 – £80,000
Leasehold Block Managemenbt
Hyperion Partners is recruiting on behalf of a leading residential managing agent for a Head of Risk & Governance to lead the organisation's approach to compliance, regulatory risk and governance across its managed portfolio.
This is a newly enhanced, senior leadership role for a business that takes its regulatory and safety obligations seriously — ideal for a risk and governance professional who wants genuine influence at leadership level, not just a compliance-tracking function.
The Role
As Head of Risk & Governance, you'll take ownership of the organisation's risk framework and governance structure at a critical time for the block and estate management sector, shaped by the Building Safety Act 2022 and the wider regulatory shift toward accountability and transparency in property management. You'll work closely with the senior leadership team, operational directors and external stakeholders to ensure the business is not just compliant, but ahead of the curve.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Developing and embedding the organisation's risk management framework across its managed portfolio
* Leading governance processes, ensuring robust reporting, audit and assurance structures are in place at Board level
* Acting as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies and ensuring readiness for Building Safety Act obligations, including Accountable Person duties where applicable
* Advising senior leadership on emerging regulatory risk, sector developments and best practice
* Building a culture of risk awareness and governance discipline across property management teams
* Managing and developing a small risk/compliance function
About You
* Proven experience in a risk, governance or compliance leadership role, ideally within property management, block management, housing or a related regulated sector
* Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and its practical implications for residential property
* Confident operating at senior/Board level, with the credibility to influence and challenge where needed
* A relevant professional qualification (e.g. IRPM, RICS, IOSH, or equivalent) would be advantageous
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business action
What's on Offer
* £70,000 – £80,000 depending on experience
* A senior, high-visibility role within a growing managing agent
* The opportunity to shape risk and governance strategy from a genuine leadership position, at a pivotal moment for the sector
