About the Role

Join our large team as a Senior Early Years Officer. You will lead and manage a team of Early Years Officers, Practitioners and Assistants, delivering high‑quality early learning and childcare to children aged 2‑5 years across 52 weeks. You will spend up to 50% of your time in the playrooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Early Years Officers, Practitioners and Assistants in delivering high‑quality learning experiences.
  • Spend up to 50% of your time in the playrooms to model and observe practice.
  • Manage shift patterns; Monday – Friday on an alternating rota (7.50 a.m. – 3.32 p.m. and 10.18 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.).
  • Oversee the operational delivery of early learning and childcare for up to 108 children.

Working Hours & Salary

36 hours per week, 52 weeks a year.

Salary range: £40,501 – £47,639.

Qualifications

  • HNC/SVQ3 in a relevant Childhood Practice award.
  • Advanced early years qualification meeting the Standard for Childhood Practice.
  • SSSC registration without conditions.
  • Desirability: BA in Childhood Practice.

Employment Conditions

This is a regulated role; candidates must join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme or have an up‑to‑date PVG Scheme check. An overseas criminal record check is required if the candidate has been abroad for three months or more in the last five years. An unconditional offer will be made only if these checks are satisfactory.
