Educational Psychologist - South West
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Psychologist to join our diverse team in the South West region. As an Educational Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people, families, and educational settings to promote positive educational and emotional outcomes.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify educational and emotional needs.
Collaborate with schools, families, and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans.
Provide advice and guidance on learning strategies, behavioural management, and mental health support.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions.
Advocate for equitable educational opportunities for all children, especially those with additional needs.
Contribute to service development by sharing insights and evidence-based practices.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely records in line with professional standards.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Educational Psychology or equivalent professional qualification.
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant regulatory body.
Experience working with children and young people with diverse educational, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Strong understanding of inclusive education principles and commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Day-to-Day
Engage directly with students, families, and educators to understand their unique contexts and challenges.
Administer and interpret various psychological assessments.
Develop and deliver training or workshops to school staff and other stakeholders.
Monitor and review intervention outcomes, adjusting approaches as needed.
Respond sensitively and professionally to complex and sometimes challenging situations.
