6‑Month Contract | Hybrid Working (3 Days On‑Site)
We are currently working with a well‑established South Coast Local Authority to appoint an experienced Trading Standards Officer on an initial 6‑month contract. This is a hands‑on role suited to officers who are confident managing a varied Trading Standards caseload and supporting core regulatory functions.
The Role
You will work as part of the Trading Standards team, delivering frontline enforcement and advisory work, including:
* Investigating and enforcing Trading Standards legislation
* Dealing with consumer protection, unfair trading, and business compliance issues
* Conducting inspections, investigations, and evidence gathering
* Preparing case files and supporting formal enforcement action where required
* Providing advice to businesses and consumers
* Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
Experience in Food Standards is desirable but not essential
