This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused qualified accountant to join a dynamic and forward-thinking business where finance plays a key strategic role in driving performance, profitability, and operational excellence. Working closely with senior leadership and legal teams, this role will provide meaningful financial insight, challenge decision-making, and support business growth through strong commercial partnering. The client has highlighted that exceptional Excel skills are absolutely essential, alongside a strong understanding of UK tax, with knowledge of SARS being highly advantageous. This is a hybrid position with just one day per week required on-site, offering excellent flexibility alongside genuine career impact. The Role This position will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic business partnering across the firm. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business, translating financial performance into clear commercial recommendations while ensuring strong financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness remain in place. This is a varied and influential role requiring excellent analytical skills, strong commercial awareness, and the confidence to challenge and support senior decision-makers. Key Responsibilities • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes across the business • Partner with senior stakeholders and legal teams to provide commercial insight on financial performance, profitability, and growth opportunities • Analyse key metrics including utilisation, recovery rates, WIP, billing performance, and matter profitability • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable reporting for senior leadership teams • Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve margins, efficiencies, and overall business performance • Support pricing strategy, fee analysis, and bonus scheme calculations • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts • Lead the year-end statutory audit process and act as the key contact for external auditors • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance processes, and audit readiness are maintained • Support UK tax compliance requirements and contribute to best practice across finance operations • Knowledge of SARS processes and requirements would be highly advantageous • Drive stronger alignment between finance and the wider business to improve decision-making and performance About You • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) • Minimum 2–3 years post-qualified experience within a Finance Business Partner or similar commercial finance role • Previous experience within professional services is highly desirable • Strong understanding of UK tax, financial compliance, and audit processes • Advanced Excel skills are essential, including financial modelling, analysis, and reporting • Knowledge of SARS would be highly advantageous • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders • Experience leading or owning statutory audit processes • Proven ability to improve finance processes and drive operational efficiencies • Excellent communication skills with a proactive and collaborative approach Why Join?
