1:1 Outreach learning support assistant

About the Role Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Outreach Learning Support Assistant to provide personalised educational and pastoral support to students across Colchester and the surrounding areas who are unable to access mainstream education settings. Working on a one-to-one basis, you will support learners in community venues, alternative provisions, and home environments, helping them to engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals. Key Responsibilities Deliver tailored one-to-one learning support in line with individual education plans. Build positive and professional relationships with students, families, schools, and external agencies. Support students with academic work, social development, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning. Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of each student. Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and engagement. Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times. Liaise regularly with schools, teachers, and other professionals to ensure effective support and communication. Travel throughout Colchester and the surrounding areas to provide outreach support as required. Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, SEND, alternative provision, or support settings. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to supporting learners. Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
