About the role

Job Title: SEN Teacher (Ages 13+) - Full-Time Location: Chorley, Lancashire Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in Chorley, supporting students aged 13 and above with sensory needs. The successful candidate will deliver a tailored, engaging curriculum that meets each student's unique learning requirements, fostering independence, confidence, and a love of learning. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across core and foundation subjects for students with sensory needs Support students' individual EHCP targets and personalised learning plans Create a structured, inclusive, and sensory-friendly learning environment Assess, track, and report pupil progress effectively Collaborate with TAs, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet student needs Promote students' social, emotional, and behavioural development Adapt teaching approaches to suit varying abilities and sensory requirementsRequirements QTS/QTLS (essential) Proven experience teaching secondary-aged students with SEN, particularly sensory needs Strong understanding of conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and sensory processing differences Ability to deliver lessons across multiple subjects and adapt teaching methods effectively Calm, nurturing approach and excellent classroom management skills Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)Benefits Competitive salary, dependent on experience SEN-specific training and ongoing CPD Supportive leadership team within a specialist SEN environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students aged 13+APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VERITAS EDUCATION All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained You must have legal right to work in the UK You must be willing to attend a registration interviewVeritas Education work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area.
