CONSULTANT PHYSICIAN: GENERAL INTERNAL MEDICINE WITH CONSIDERATION FOR A SPECIAL INTEREST

Salary: Consultant scale £111,430 - £148,064 per annum + on-call supplement (3% of full time salary)

About the Borders

Borders General Hospital is a well-equipped 284 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh. A relocation package/assistance up to full Inland Revenue limits with the possibility of temporary accommodation in the local area is available for the successful candidate.

All new consultants are supported with the development of leadership and management skills for their role. There are also opportunities for professional coaching and mentoring; if you wish an executive coach will be assigned to support your development.

The Role

The clinical role focuses on delivery of general medical care within the admissions unit, downstream wards and the medical high dependency environment. There is an on call commitment for general medicine with 16 consultant colleagues and specialty clinics according to your experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold MRCP or equivalent
• Must be registered with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register for General (Internal) Medicine or Acute Medicine or be within 6 months of expected date of obtaining CCT or equivalent
