The team is responsible for the design, implementation, optimisation and ongoing management of enterprise data and business intelligence solutions, and the effective operation, maintenance and ongoing development of data and analytics platforms, across a modern cloud-based technology stackWe are seeking Technical Specialists who will play a key role in the design, development, and ongoing support of data and analytics solutions. This includes contributing to modern data platform development, building and optimising data pipelines, and supporting enterprise data and analytical tools that underpin critical reporting and decision-making across health and social care.The successful candidate will play a key role in:Technical design, development and implementation of complex data, integration and BI solutionsProviding specialist technical support and advice across platforms such as AWS, Denodo, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects and other enterprise toolsSupporting the management of platform environments, including configuration, upgrades, security controls and performance tuningContributing to service improvement, helping to maintain operational stability and supporting ongoing platform developmentContributing to technical strategy and roadmap planning, including evaluation of emerging technologiesMentoring and developing other technical staff across the data and analytics serviceThis is an exciting opportunity to shape modern data platforms and contribute to nationally significant data services, working within a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.Please find more information about this post and the Data & Analytics Team here: (insert website link)The Candidate:We are looking for a technically skilled and motivated individual with experience in data and analytics environments, and a strong ability to deliver practical, high-quality solutions.You will bring:Demonstrable experience in designing, developing, and implementing data, BI, or analytics solutions, including data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data platform componentsStrong technical capability, including SQL and (ideally) Python, with an understanding of cloud and modern data architecture conceptsExperience working with data warehouses and enterprise BI tools, alongside knowledge of data modelling and integration approachesThe ability to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions, working both independently and as part of a wider delivery teamExperience supporting and maintaining data and analytics platforms, including contributing to their stability, security, and continuous improvementStrong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear technical advice and communicate complex concepts to a range of audiencesExperience of working within structured delivery environments, including Agile or DevOps approaches, and delivering against defined plans and milestonesA proactive and problem-solving mindset, with experience troubleshooting complex data or platform issues.You will also demonstrate:High levels of professionalism, integrity, and accountabilityStrong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharingLocation and Working Pattern:Currently hybrid working with bases in Glasgow and EdinburghWork pattern: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per weekIt is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.Benefits:Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
